This is the official site of the NMRA Standards & Conformance Department's Digital Command Control Working Group. The Working Group consist of manufacturers and NMRA volunteers, who develop, revise and extend the DCC Standards. The volunteers also test DCC equipment for compliance to the Standards. The participants in the DCC Working Group are experienced in electronics and computer technology. The Working Group is very active, meeting in person a few times each year and by video conference all other months.
DCC Manufacturers are issued an Identification number (ID) by the NMRA after they demonstrate that they can produce a decoder or other DCC product that conforms to all applicable NMRA Standards. Once an ID is issued, that value is stored in CV8. To find the Manufacturer's ID read CV8. The decoder version is stored in CV7. Prior to issuance of a Manufacturer's ID, an ID number of 13 may be used. Please refer to the section DCC Conformance Testing on the Conformance and Inspection Page. New manufacturers that are interested in obtaining an ID should contact CIManager [at] nmra.org for information about sending equipment for testing and certification for a Warrant of Conformance. Below is a list of all known DCC Manufacturer.
